Psi Chi Induction Ceremony and Dinner, April 29-30

We are proud to announce our new inductees for Spring 2009!

Relay for Life, April 17-18

Psi Chi's team exceeded their fundraising goal of $1000.00 at this year's Relay for Life! Team members were present at Relay from 7pm until 7am, supporting the battle against cancer. Team Psi Chi won prizes and had a lot of fun playing scrabble and twister!

Psychology Career Fair, April 7

Representatives from 3 different companies, literature from 3 additional companies, and an ASU Career Services advisor were available to Psychology majors in order to further explore the types of jobs available to graduates with Bachelor's degrees in Psychology.

March 2009

Arizona Psi Chi Undergraduate Psychology Research Convention, March 27-28

Students from ASU, NAU and U of A came together to showcase and celebrate undergraduate research projects.  This year the convention was hosted by your very own Psi Chi Chapter, here at ASU.  The event kicked off with an informal dinner and a talk by keynote speaker Dr. Keith Crnic (ASU) on Friday night. On Saturday, we provided breakfast, enjoyed another talk by keynote speaker Dr. Meliksah Demir (NAU), had a poster session with 24 submissions, then heard from our third keynote speaker Dr. Linda Luecken (ASU), attending individual undergraduate poster presentations (8 total), and finally, had an awards ceremony. It was great success!

February 2009

Andre House Volunteering, February 28

Eleven Psi Chi members volunteered together at Andre House, a homeless shelter in downtown Phoenix.  We were able to do our part to help sort clothing, bed linens, personal hygiene products, etc. for all those in need.

Mini Road to Grad School, February 11

We hosted our annual Mini Road to Grad School - a more personal interaction where a handful of students were able to get their questions about graduate school answered by two of our graduate liasions and our faculty advisor.

Local Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Drive

We were so fortunate to be able to adopt 2 local families during the Christmas season and provide them with gifts and christmas trees donated by our very own Psi Chi members and Psychology faculty & graduate students! Both families have expressed their deepest gratitude for "bringing them so much happiness."

Research Assistant Connection Event, December 4

We held our 2nd RA Connection Event, where we paired faculty and graduate students conducting research in the Psychology department with interested students.

October 2008

Road to Grad School, October 16

We hosted our annual Road to Grad School event where graduate students and faculty members were on hand to answer questions about getting into graduate school and succeeding once you get there. Thanks to our panel members and all who participated!

School Supply Drive

We held a supply drive for underpriviledged schools in the Tempe public school system. We gathered enough supplies to donate to three elementary schools!

September 2008

 Psych Jeopardy, September 18

We hosted a game of Psych Jeopardy where members proved their knowledge of psychology material and earned prizes of candy! The winning team received $50 in gift certificates to the ASU Bookstore.

Research Assistant Connection Event, September 3

We held our RA Connection Event, where we paired faculty and graduate students conducting research in the Psychology department with interested students. Look for information on our next RA Connection Event on December 4!

Fall Open House

We kicked off the 2008-2009 academic year by presenting Psi Chi at the Fall Freshman Welcome Open House for psychology students.
